Anti‑Slavery, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation
of fundamental human rights

Blue 9 Security Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chain. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We operate a zero-tolerance approach and expect the same high standards from everyone we work with.

About Us

Blue 9 Security Ltd is a UK-based provider of manned guarding, mobile response, CCTV monitoring, and specialist protective services. As part of the private security sector, we recognise our responsibility to prevent exploitation, protect vulnerable people, and uphold the highest ethical standards.

Our commitment

We are committed to:

  • A zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking.
  • Ethical procurement and fair employment practices.
  • Ensuring all staff, subcontractors, and suppliers meet their legal and ethical obligations.

Our approach matches the size and risk profile of our business and aligns with UK law, recognised best practice, and public sector expectations.

Legal Framework and Voluntary Statement

This policy aligns with the Modern Slavery Act and Section 54 requirements on transparency in supply chains. Our annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold, so we are not legally required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement. However, we choose to do so to show ethical leadership, build client trust, and meet security sector best practice.

Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

We assess risks relating to:

  • Recruitment of security staff and use of labour agencies.
  • Subcontracted guarding providers.
  • Uniform and equipment suppliers.
  • Temporary staff providers.

We apply due diligence by:

  • Recruiting staff directly wherever possible.
  • Verifying identity, right to work, and employment status.
  • Using reputable UK-based suppliers.
  • Refusing to engage suppliers who cannot show lawful and ethical employment practices.
  • Maintaining an approved supplier list.
  • Investigating any concerns or suspicious practices promptly.

Policies and Training

Our commitment is supported by:

  • Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Recruitment & Vetting Policy
  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy
  • Supplier Code of Conduct

All staff receive training on:

  • Recognising signs of modern slavery.
  • Reporting procedures.
  • Ethical conduct and safeguarding principles.

Reporting concerns

All employees, contractors, and associates are responsible for helping to prevent, detect, and report modern slavery. Concerns can be raised through:

  • Line managers
  • Senior management
  • Confidential whistleblowing channels

We encourage openness and will support anyone raising genuine concerns in good faith. No one will suffer detrimental treatment for reporting a concern.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Director of Blue 9 Security Ltd has overall responsibility for this policy. Management at all levels must:

  • Implement the policy in their areas.
  • Ensure staff understand and comply with it.
  • Provide appropriate training and oversight.

This policy applies to everyone working for or on behalf of Blue 9 Security Ltd, including:

  • Employees, directors, and officers
  • Agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, and interns
